As a TV host, Refaeli has hosted The X Factor Israel since 2013. She also co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv.

Thanks to her work in modeling and business, she became the highest-paid model in Israel in 2013, according to Forbes Israel.

Refaeli was born and raised in Hod HaSharon, Israel. Her family is secular Jewish, which means they are not strictly religious. In the Hebrew, her first name, Bar, means "wild." Her last name, Refaeli, means "my God heals."

Her parents were both born in Israel. Her grandparents were Jewish immigrants who moved to Israel from Italy, Lithuania, and Poland. They were also survivors of the Holocaust.

Her father, Rafi, used to own a horse stable. Her mother, Tzipi, was a model in the 1970s. Refaeli has two younger brothers, On and Dor, and an older half-brother, Neil.

Modeling Success

Refaeli started modeling when she was only eight months old, appearing in commercials. She took a break at age 12 for dental work but returned to modeling at 15. In 2000, she was named "Model of the Year" at an Israeli fashion awards show.

She has worked with many famous fashion brands and appeared in top magazines all over the world. These include Elle, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and GQ.

Refaeli has been in advertisements for major companies like Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Victoria's Secret, and Samsung.

In 2007, she became the second Israeli model to be featured in Sports Illustrated magazine's Swimsuit Issue. Two years later, she was on the cover of that same magazine. A picture of her from the magazine was even painted on the side of a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 airplane.

Over the years, she has received several awards for her style. In 2012, Maxim magazine placed her at the top of its Hot 100 list.

Personal Life

In 2003, Refaeli married a family friend named Arik Weinstein. At the time, some people in Israel questioned the marriage. This was because getting married meant she did not have to serve in the Israel Defense Forces, which is usually required for young citizens. They divorced in 2005.

From 2005 to 2011, Refaeli was in a relationship with American actor Leonardo DiCaprio. They met at a party in Las Vegas.
