Barada (pronounced as Bear-uh-duh) is a small village located in Richardson County, Nebraska, in the United States. According to the 2020 census, only 20 people lived there. It is a quiet place with an interesting past.

A Look Back in Time: Barada's History

Barada was first settled in the 1850s, which was a long time ago! However, it did not officially become a village until 1927. The village was named after a famous person from the mid-1800s named Antonine Barada. He was known as a folk hero and ran a special place called a "trading post." This trading post was located within an area that was once a Native American reservation. A trading post was like a store where people could trade goods and supplies.

In 2010, the census showed that 24 people lived in Barada. These people lived in 12 different homes, and 6 of these were families. The village had 14 housing units in total. All of the people living in Barada at that time were White.

Before 2009, Barada was part of the Southeast Nebraska Consolidated Schools. On January 1, 2009, this school district joined with the Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer School District.
