Bardia is a suburb located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It's about 38 kilometres south-west of the main city centre of Sydney. You can find Bardia between the areas of Campbelltown and Liverpool. It's also part of a larger area known as the Macarthur region.
The Story of Bardia's Name
Bardia got its name from a place called "Bardia Barracks" in Ingleburn. These barracks were named to remember a very important event: the Battle of Bardia. This battle was the first time Australian soldiers fought in World War II. The local 16th division of soldiers did very well in this battle. Bardia officially became a suburb on 18 December 2009.
