Barishal Zilla School (Bengali: বরিশাল জিলা স্কুল), often called BZS, is a public school for boys. It is located in Barisal, a city in south-central Bangladesh. This school was the very first high school to be built in the Barisal area. It started on December 23, 1829, with the name Barisal English School. W. N. Garrett founded the school, and it began with 27 students. In 1853, its name was changed to Barisal Zilla School.
