Another important road, Washington State Route 20, meets US 395 right in Barney's Junction. Route 20 generally heads west for about 40 miles (64 km). It goes over Sherman Creek Pass, which is in the Colville National Forest, and leads to Republic. Republic is the main town and county seat of Ferry County.
