Marcelo Baron Polanczyk (born 19 January 1974), known as just Baron, is a former Brazilian football player. He played as a striker, which means he was mainly focused on scoring goals for his team.

Baron's Football Journey

Baron started his football career in Brazil. He played for several clubs there, including Internacional and Santa Cruz.

Playing in Japan

A big part of Baron's career was spent playing in Japan. He joined Ventforet Kofu in 1996. He became a very important player for them. Later, he played for other well-known Japanese teams. These included JEF United Ichihara, Shimizu S-Pulse, and Cerezo Osaka. He was known for scoring many goals during his time in Japan.

He also played for Kashima Antlers, Vegalta Sendai, Vissel Kobe, and Avispa Fukuoka. Baron retired from professional football after playing for América-SP in 2007.
