Marcelo Baron Polanczyk (born 19 January 1974), known simply as Baron, is a former Brazilian football player. He played as a striker, which means his main job was to score goals. Baron is especially known for his time playing in Japan, where he became a very successful goal scorer for several teams.

Baron started his football career in Brazil in the early 1990s. He played for clubs like Internacional, Chapecoense, and Santa Cruz. These teams helped him develop his skills as a strong forward.
