Baskerville Holmes (born May 5, 1964 – died March 18, 1997) was an American professional basketball player. He came from Memphis, Tennessee. In the 1986 NBA Draft, he was chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks. His unique name was inspired by the famous detective Sherlock Holmes and the book The Hound of the Baskervilles. Before playing basketball, he was a state champion in the high jump in Tennessee.

Basketball Journey

Baskerville Holmes was a power forward, which is a position in basketball. He was 6 feet 7 inches (2.01 meters) tall. He played college basketball for four seasons at Memphis State University from 1982 to 1986. He wore the number 43 jersey.

While playing for the Memphis State Tigers, Holmes was part of a strong team. He played alongside other talented players like William Bedford and Keith Lee. Together, they formed a very effective front court for their team.

In 1986, Baskerville Holmes was drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was picked by the Milwaukee Bucks. However, he did not get to play for the Bucks in an NBA game.

After college, Holmes played professional basketball in other countries. He played in Finland, Spain, and Sweden. Later, he returned to Memphis. There, he started a new career as a truck driver.
