Bastendorf facts for kids
Bastendorf (which is Baastenduerf in Luxembourgish) is a small town. It's located in the commune of Tandel, which is in the northeastern part of Luxembourg. A commune is like a local government area, similar to a township or a small district.
About Bastendorf
Bastendorf used to be its own separate commune. This was in the canton of Diekirch. A canton is a larger administrative area, a bit like a county or a region.
On January 1, 2006, Bastendorf joined with another town called Fouhren. Together, they formed a brand-new commune named Tandel. This new commune is part of the canton of Vianden. This change helped to organize the local government more efficiently.
