Where Does the River Flow?

The North Branch of the Battle River flows from east to west. It travels for about 13.7 miles (22 kilometers). This entire part of the river is located in Beltrami County.

The South Branch is much longer. It flows for about 40.1 miles (64.5 kilometers). This branch starts at Bartlett Lake in Koochiching County. From there, it flows west-northwest until it reaches Beltrami County.
