This special toad was first described in 1971. Its scientific name, Bufotes pseudoraddei, helps scientists around the world know exactly which animal they are talking about. It has a few common names, like the Batura toad, which comes from the Batura Glacier area where it lives.
Where the Batura Toad Lives
The Batura toad makes its home in the western Himalayan mountains. You can find it in northern Pakistan. It also lives near the border between western Xizang (which is part of China) and the nearby northwestern part of India.

This toad likes to live in several different kinds of places. It prefers temperate forests, which are forests that have moderate temperatures.
