Bayou Pigeon is surrounded by nature and roads. To the west is the huge Atchafalaya Basin. This is a large swamp and wetland area. Louisiana Highway 404 is to the north. The White Castle Canal is to the east. Iberia Parish is to the south.
The main road through the village is Louisiana Highway 75. There is one bridge over the Grand River. It was built in 1957. Highway 75 ends on the east side of the Grand River. This spot is sometimes called "The End of the World."
