Beartooth Mountain is one of the highest peaks in the Beartooth Mountains. It's also tied for the 11th tallest mountain in all of Montana! It shares this spot with another mountain called Bowback Mountain.
Where is Beartooth Mountain?
Beartooth Mountain is found within a special protected area. This area is known as the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. A wilderness area is a place where nature is kept wild and untouched. It's also part of the Custer National Forest, which is a large forest managed by the government.

Just a short distance away, about .29 mi (0.47 km) to the northeast, there's a unique rock formation. It's a tall, pointed rock called a spire. This spire is known as Bears Tooth.
