Beatrice Angle (1859–1915) was a talented British sculptor. She lived from 1859 to 1915. She was known for creating art using terracotta and bronze.
Biography of Beatrice Angle
Beatrice Angle was born in Hornsey, a part of north London. She grew up nearby in Islington. She was one of eleven children! Her parents were Susan and John Angle. Her father was a "job master," which meant he rented out horses and carriages.
Beatrice mainly created sculptures of heads and busts. She worked with materials like terracotta and bronze. Sometimes, she also made pieces from porcelain. She even created more imaginative designs.
In 1892, Beatrice showed a small statue. It was called The Young Venetian. She displayed it at the famous Paris Salon art show. She also exhibited her art in other places. These included the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
Beatrice showed many works in London. She had 16 pieces at the Royal Academy. These were shown between 1885 and 1899. She also displayed two pieces at the Society of Women Artists in 1890.
For some time, Beatrice had her own art studio. It was located in Kensington. Later in her life, she lived in Sandwich, a town in Kent.
