How Beersville Got Its Name

Beersville was first shown on old maps from 1830. Back then, it was called Falmers. Later, a family named Beers moved to this area in the 1800s. People believe the village was named after them.

In 1850, a history book called the village "Bears Tavern." Then, in 1870, a map of the county called it "Bursville Hotel." This might have been a spelling mistake.
