Belk is a small town in Fayette County, Alabama, United States. It became an official town in January 1969 when its citizens voted to incorporate. According to the 2020 census, about 186 people live there.
Where is Belk Located?
Belk is in the western part of Fayette County. It sits on the east side of a valley. This valley is formed by Luxapalilla Creek. This creek flows southwest and joins the Tombigbee River.
Alabama State Route 96 goes right through the town. You can travel northeast about 7 miles (11 km) to reach Fayette. Fayette is the main city of the county. If you go southwest for about 12 miles (19 km), you will get to Millport. Columbus, Mississippi, is also southwest, about 34 miles (55 km) away.
The U.S. Census Bureau says Belk covers a total area of about 1.39 square miles (3.6 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
