Bella was born in Brighton, England. She always dreamed of becoming an entertainer. Her first professional acting job was in 1962. She performed in "repertory theatre" in Ryde, on the Isle of Wight. This means she acted in different plays regularly with the same group of actors.
Famous TV Roles
Bella Emberg appeared in many popular TV shows. These included The Benny Hill Show, Robin's Nest, Softly, Softly, and Z Cars. She also appeared in Grange Hill, a show about a school.
Her most famous role was in The Russ Abbot Show. She played a superheroine called Blunderwoman. She acted alongside Russ Abbot, who played Cooperman. This show was very popular and ran for many years, from 1980 to 1996. At its best, 18 million people watched it!
Film and Other Appearances
Bella also acted in the movie History of the World, Part I (1981). This film was made by the famous director Mel Brooks. She also made a guest appearance in the first episode of The Basil Brush Show in 2002.
