Belmont is a small town in Pleasants County, West Virginia, United States. It is part of the larger Parkersburg–Vienna metropolitan area. In 2020, about 872 people lived there.
Belmont became an official town on April 19, 1946. This was decided by the local Circuit Court in Pleasants County. The town got its name from the French words "beau mont," which mean "beautiful hills." This describes the lovely landscape around the area.
