Bend is a small community in Tehama County, California, United States. It's known as a census-designated place, which means it's a special area counted by the government for population.
Bend is located right on the Sacramento River, about 6 miles (10 km) north-northeast of Red Bluff. The community got its name because of a natural curve, or "bend," in the Sacramento River nearby.
It used to have a post office that operated from 1897 to 1935. The area was first called Horsethief Bend, then Sander's Bend, before finally being shortened to just Bend.
