Benjamin is a small community located in Utah County, Utah, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the U.S. Census Bureau defines for gathering statistics, but it's not an officially incorporated city or town. Benjamin is part of the larger Provo–Orem metropolitan area. In 2010, about 1,145 people lived there.

Benjamin's History
Early Settlement and Naming
The first people settled in the area of Benjamin around 1860. The community was named after Benjamin F. Stewart, who was one of the first settlers in the area. A post office was opened in Benjamin in 1892, but it closed down in 1902.
Efforts to Become a Town
In February 2009, some residents of Benjamin wanted their community to become an incorporated town. This was an effort to prevent nearby cities like Salem, Spanish Fork, and Payson from expanding and taking over parts of Benjamin. Becoming an incorporated town would give Benjamin more control over its own future.
