Arthur Francis Benjamin Guinness, 3rd Earl of Iveagh (born May 20, 1937 – died June 18, 1992) was an Irish businessman and politician. He was also known as Viscount Elveden from 1945 to 1967. He led the famous Guinness company as its chairman from 1962 to 1986. After that, he became its president until he passed away in 1992.

Life of Benjamin Guinness
Arthur Francis Benjamin Guinness was born into the Guinness family. This family is well-known in Ireland. His father, Arthur Onslow Edward Guinness, was a soldier. Sadly, his father died in 1945 during World War II. Benjamin's mother later remarried in 1947.
Education and Early Life
Benjamin went to school at Eton College. This is a famous school in England. He then studied at Trinity College, Cambridge, and the University of Grenoble. In September 1967, he became the 3rd Earl of Iveagh. He inherited this title from his grandfather, Rupert Guinness, 2nd Earl of Iveagh.
His Work and Contributions
Benjamin lived in Dublin, Ireland, at a place called Farmleigh. He was the chairman of the Guinness company for many years. He also helped with two important charities. These were the Iveagh Trust in Dublin and the Guinness Trust in London. Both trusts help provide homes for people.
Benjamin was also interested in horses. He owned horses and was involved in horse breeding. He even helped to fund a famous horse farm called Kildangan Stud.
Serving in Politics
Benjamin Guinness was unique because he was a member of two different parliaments at the same time. He was part of the British House of Lords from 1967 to 1992. He was also appointed as an Irish Senator from 1973 to 1977. This was a rare achievement.
Family and Personal Life
Lord Iveagh married Miranda Daphne Jane Smiley in 1963. They had four children together. Their children are:

Benjamin Guinness passed away in London in 1992. He was 55 years old. After his death, his oldest son, Edward, became the 4th Earl of Iveagh.
