Bernard Scott (born February 10, 1984) is an American former professional football running back. He was chosen by the Cincinnati Bengals in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL draft. He played college football at Abilene Christian University. His brother, Daryl Richardson, also played as a running back in the NFL.

Early Life and High School Football
Bernard Scott grew up in Vernon, Texas. He was a talented football player in high school. In 2001, as a junior, he was named a first-team all-state player. He later graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 2003.
College Football Journey
Scott started his college football career at Central Arkansas University. In 2004, he earned the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year award. He then transferred to Blinn College, a junior college.
Success at Blinn College
At Blinn College, Scott became a first-team NJCAA All-America player. He helped his team, the Buccaneers, achieve a perfect 12–0 season. They even won the NJCAA national championship. Scott was amazing, averaging 154.4 rushing yards per game. He finished his season with 1,892 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns. He was also a first-team all-star in the Southwestern Junior College Football Conference.
Shining at Abilene Christian
In 2007, Scott joined Abilene Christian University. He quickly became a star player. In 2007, he was almost named the best player in NCAA Division II football, finishing second for the Harlon Hill Trophy. That year, Scott broke a league record with 2,165 rushing yards. He also set two NCAA Division II records with 39 total touchdowns and 234 points scored.
In 2008, Scott won the Harlon Hill Trophy by a large margin. He received one of the highest vote totals in the trophy's history.

Joining the Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals picked Bernard Scott in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He joined the team as a kick returner and a backup running back.
On November 15, 2009, Scott made a huge play. He returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This amazing play earned him the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award.
In his first game as a starter, Scott rushed for 119 yards. This included a 61-yard run, which was the longest for a Bengals player since 2002. He also became the first Bengals rookie since 1997 to rush for over 100 yards in a single game.
Time with the Baltimore Ravens
Scott signed with the Baltimore Ravens on October 28, 2013. He played for them briefly before being released. However, he re-signed with the Ravens on December 10, 2013, after another player was injured.
Playing in Canada
On March 3, 2015, Scott signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. He decided to retire from football in May 2015.
