History of Berry

The Town of Berry was officially created on January 7, 1850. It was formed by separating from a larger area known as Farmersville. The town was likely named after Berry Haney. He was known for running a tavern in the 1830s. He also became the first postmaster for the Cross Plains post office in 1838.
