Bethany Antonia is a talented British actress. She was born on December 25, 1997. Many people know her for playing Princess Baela Targaryen in the popular fantasy TV show House of the Dragon on HBO.
She has also been in several other TV series. These include the teen show Get Even (2020) on BBC iPlayer, the crime drama Stay Close (2021) on Netflix, and the TV movie Nolly (2023) on ITV. Her movie roles include Pin Cushion (2017).
About Bethany
Bethany Antonia was born in Quinton, Birmingham, England. Her family has roots in both England and Jamaica. When she was six years old, her family moved to a small town in France. They lived there for five years before moving back to Birmingham when she was eleven.
She went to Perryfields High School and then to Birmingham Ormiston Academy for her advanced studies. At the academy, she focused on musical theatre.
Bethany started training to be an actress at a young age. When she was 14, she joined the First Act Workshop. She also spent many years learning dance at Adage Dance studio and acting at Spotlight Stage School. She also trained with the British Youth Music Theatre.
Her Acting Journey
Bethany Antonia started her acting career when she was just 14 years old. Her first role was in a short film version of The Tempest, a play by William Shakespeare. She got this part after trying out at local auditions. Soon after, she found an agent to help her get more acting jobs.
In 2017, when she was 18, Bethany made her first appearance on TV. This was in an episode of the BBC One medical show Doctors. In the same year, she also made her first appearance in a full-length movie called Pin Cushion.
In 2019, Bethany was chosen to play Margot Rivers in the teen series Get Even. This show was available on BBC iPlayer and Netflix. It was based on a book series called Don't Get Mad.
Later, in 2021, Bethany played Kayleigh Shaw in the Netflix crime drama Stay Close. This show had eight episodes and was made by a company called Red Production Company, working with writer Harlan Coben. In January 2022, Bethany also performed on stage for the first time in a play called LAVA at the Soho Theatre in London.
Since 2022, Bethany has been playing Princess Baela Targaryen in the HBO fantasy series House of the Dragon. This show is a prequel to Game of Thrones. It is based on a book by George R. R. Martin called Fire and Blood. In 2023, she also appeared in the ITV miniseries Nolly, where she played Poppy Ngnomo alongside actress Helena Bonham Carter.
