History of Bethel Springs
Bethel Springs was first planned out in 1860. This happened when a railroad line was built to reach that spot. A post office opened in the town in 1866.
The community got its name from a nearby natural spring. This spring was named after the Bethel Presbyterian Church. On March 31, 2023, a powerful tornado passed through the city. It caused significant damage and tragically resulted in the loss of nine lives.

Bethel Springs is located at coordinates 35°14′15″N 88°36′41″W. The town was named after a Presbyterian church in the area. The name "Beth-El" comes from Hebrew. It means "house of God."
