Why Is It Called Between?
Many people think the town is named "Between" because it's located in the middle of two bigger cities: Atlanta and Athens. It's also found between Loganville and Monroe, which are the two largest cities in Walton County.
The real story is a bit different. People living in the area didn't want to become part of Loganville or Monroe. So, they worked together to create their own town. They had trouble picking a name for their new town. In the end, they chose the simplest name that made sense: Between.
