Robert Anthony Smith (born February 11, 1979), known as Big Bert, is an American music producer, songwriter, and musician. He helps create songs for many famous artists.

Early Life and Music
Robert Smith was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey. His father was a preacher and owned a trucking company. Robert is related to music producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and his brother Fred.
When he was a kid, Robert started playing music at church. He played the piano and drum set. His brothers and sisters would sing along. His family also had a vacation home in Marion County, Florida, where they spent a lot of time.
Big Bert's Music Career
Robert Smith began making music when he was just 15 years old. In 2000, his cousin Rodney Jerkins asked him to help with a song. It was a remix of "Sad Eyes" by Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias.
After that project, Robert finished high school. He then moved to Los Angeles to join Jerkins' music group, Darkchild. One of his first big projects was working on Michael Jackson's album Invincible.
He also helped produce songs for popular groups like B2K and the Spice Girls. Later, he worked with artists such as Dave Hollister, Toni Braxton, and Kelly Rowland. In 2020, Robert and his wife, Xochi Smith, started their own music company called NOMA Records. They co-founded it with David and Lisa Midgett.
Big Bert's Family Life
Robert Smith has a daughter named Sy'rai Iman Smith, who was born in 2002.
Today, Robert and his wife, Xochitl Jacques-Smith, work together. They have five children named Rain, Soleil, Sade, Robert, and Judah. Their family lives in Ocala, Florida.
