Robert Anthony Smith (born February 11, 1979), known as Big Bert, is an American music producer, songwriter, and musician. He has worked with many famous artists. He is known for helping create popular songs.

Early Life and Music Beginnings
Robert Anthony Smith was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey. His father was a preacher and also owned a trucking company. Robert grew up around music. He is a cousin of the well-known music producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. His older brother, Fred, is also involved in music.
From a young age, Robert loved music. He started playing the piano and drum set at church. His brothers and sisters would sing along. The family also spent time at their vacation home in Marion County, Florida.
Big Bert's Music Career
Robert Smith began producing music when he was just 15 years old. In 2000, his cousin Rodney Jerkins asked him to help. They worked on a remix for Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias's song "Sad Eyes."
After finishing high school, Robert moved to Los Angeles. There, he joined Jerkins' music group, Darkchild. One of his first big projects was working on Michael Jackson's album Invincible.
He continued to work with Jerkins on many projects. He helped produce songs for groups like B2K and the Spice Girls. He also contributed to music for artists such as Dave Hollister, Toni Braxton, and Kelly Rowland.
In 2020, Robert Smith started his own music label. It is called NOMA Records. He co-founded it with his wife, Xochi Smith, and David and Lisa Midgett.
Robert Smith's Family Life
Robert Smith is married to Xochitl Jacques-Smith. They work together in the music industry. They have five children named Rain, Soleil, Sade, Robert, and Judah. The family lives in Ocala, Florida.
Robert also has a daughter named Sy'rai Iman Smith, born in 2002. Her mother is singer Brandy.
