In 2001, Big Reese left P.A. and DreamWorks. He wanted to focus on his own career as a music producer. He quickly found success. Big Reese created a song called "Ride" for the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious. The movie's director, John Singleton, personally chose this song.
Big Reese has produced music for many famous artists. These include Mario, TLC, Andre 3000, Pink, and T.I.. He also worked with Sleepy Brown, Mystikal, and Da Brat. His production work is very impressive.
Chart-Topping Success
Some of Big Reese's biggest achievements include working on Mariah Carey's "Shake It Off" remix. He also produced "Street Life" for Rick Ross. Big Reese produced "It Ain't Over" for Young Dro.
He had huge success with Lloyd's song "You". This song reached number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It also topped the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart. "You" became the most popular ringtone in the country. Big Reese also produced a popular remix of "You" featuring Nas and Andre 3000.
He produced "Hustlin'" for T.I.'s album T.I. vs T.I.P.. Big Reese also worked on Mario's song "Lay in My Bed" from his album Go.
Recent Work and Record Label
In 2010, a company called Reservoir Media Management bought all of Big Reese's music rights. He produced Lloyd's song "Girls Around the World" featuring Lil Wayne. This song was on Lloyd's album Lessons In Love.
Big Reese also has his own record label called Sonic Jungle Records. The first artist to release music on his label is J.Monroe. She is a female singer from Atlanta. Big Reese was the main producer for her album and her first song, "Hey Blondie".
