William Bradshaw Greene Jr. was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on November 30, 1930.
He went to the University of Michigan. Bill Greene was very active in the Civil Rights Movement. This was a time when many people worked to end unfair treatment and gain equal rights for all. In the Senate, he represented many communities in Southern California. He was also the chairman of the Senate Industrial Relations Committee. This committee focused on laws about jobs and workers' rights. He retired in 1992 due to health issues.
