William Jones Jr. (born September 10, 1966) is a former American football player. He played as a fullback for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League (NFL). He was picked by the Chiefs in the 1989 NFL Draft.

Growing Up and College Football

William Jones Jr. was born on September 10, 1966. His hometown is Abilene, Texas. He went to Corsicana High School in Corsicana, Texas.

He started playing college football at Tyler Junior College from 1985 to 1986. Later, he played for the SMU Mustangs at Southern Methodist University in 1987. In 1988, he moved to play for the Southwest Texas State Bobcats.

Playing in the NFL

The Kansas City Chiefs chose Bill Jones in the 12th round of the 1989 NFL draft. He was the 311th player picked overall. He officially joined the team on July 20.

First Season with the Chiefs (1990)

After some changes to the team roster, Jones played in all 16 games for the Chiefs in 1990. He started five of those games. He ran for 47 yards and caught 19 passes for 137 yards. He also scored five Touchdowns that season. He played in one playoff game too.

Second Season (1991) and Playoffs

In 1991, Bill Jones played in 15 games and started 14 of them. He caught 14 passes for 97 yards and scored one touchdown. The Chiefs had a great year, finishing with 10 wins and 6 losses.

They won their first playoff game against the Los Angeles Raiders. However, they lost to the Buffalo Bills in the next round.

Final Season (1992)

Jones played in the first six games of the 1992 season. He was later released from the team in October. He rejoined the team in November and played one more game. He caught two passes for five yards that season. He was released for the final time in November 1992.
