Biwali Bayles (born 15 February 2002) is an Australian professional basketball player. He plays for the Sydney Comets in the NBL1 East league. Biwali is a talented point guard and shooting guard. He helped the Sydney Kings win two NBL championships in 2022 and 2023. Before becoming a professional, he played college basketball for the University of Hawaii.

Early Life and Basketball Start
Biwali Bayles was born in Brisbane, Australia, on 15 February 2002. When he was very young, his family moved to Redfern, a suburb in Sydney. He grew up in an area known as The Block.
At first, Biwali was a big fan of rugby league football. He even thought about playing it professionally. However, his mother suggested he try basketball instead. This turned out to be a great idea for his future!
College Basketball Journey
In January 2020, Biwali decided to play college basketball in the United States. He joined the University of Hawaii team.
During his time there, he was a key player. He led his team in assists, which means he helped his teammates score a lot. He also averaged 6.2 points per game. One exciting moment was when he made a game-winning three-point shot against Cal State Northridge.
Biwali played for Hawaii for one season. In March 2021, he decided to leave college to become a professional basketball player in Australia.
Professional Basketball Career
Playing in the NBL and Europe
Biwali Bayles signed with the Sydney Kings on 27 April 2021. The Kings are a team in Australia's top basketball league, the NBL. He helped the Kings win the NBL championship in 2022.
In January 2023, Biwali took a break from the Kings for the rest of the 2022–23 season. Even without him playing, the Kings went on to win another NBL championship that year!
In May 2023, Biwali joined the Illawarra Hawks as a development player for the 2023–24 NBL season. Development players train with the main team and can play if needed.
In August 2024, Biwali moved to Europe to play. He signed with BBC Nyon, a team in the Swiss Basketball League.
Playing in the NBL1 League
Besides the NBL, Biwali has also played in the NBL1, which is a semi-professional league in Australia.
In 2020, he played two games for the BA Centre of Excellence in the Waratah League (part of NBL1). In 2021, he played two games for the Inner West Bulls in the same league.
In 2022, Biwali played for the Mackay Meteors in the NBL1 North league. He continued in NBL1 North in 2023 with the North Gold Coast Seahawks. In 2024, he joined the Sydney Comets in the NBL1 East league. He is still with the Comets for the 2025 NBL1 East season.
In June 2025, Biwali also played in a special exhibition game. He was part of the Indigenous Basketball Australia All-Stars team, playing against Maori Basketball New Zealand.
Representing Australia
Biwali has proudly represented Australia in international basketball.
In 2019, he won a gold medal at the FIBA U17 Oceania Championships. He played for the Australian national under-17 team. He has also been a member of the Australian national under-19 team. He played for them at the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup.
