Just a few miles from Blakesburg, you can find the Airpower Museum. This museum has about 25 old airplanes, many from before World War II. You can also see a library about flight, old flight simulators, and airplane parts like propellers and engines. Every year, the museum hosts a special event where vintage airplanes fly in!

Schools in Blakesburg

The schools in Blakesburg are part of the Eddyville–Blakesburg–Fremont Community School District. There is one school building in Blakesburg itself, called Blakesburg Elementary Attendance Center. Students in grades 7 through 12 go to Eddyville–Blakesburg Junior/Senior High School, which is in the nearby town of Eddyville.

This school district was formed in 2012 when two smaller districts joined together. Before that, the Blakesburg schools had also joined with Eddyville schools in 1994.
