KVLY-TV Mast
The KVLY-TV mast is a huge tower located close to Blanchard. It is the tallest man-made structure in the entire Western Hemisphere. This tower is used to send out television signals for the Fargo TV station KVLY-TV.
For many years, this mast was one of the tallest structures in the world. It was the tallest from 1963 to 1974, and again from 1991 to 2008. Today, it is still the fourth-tallest man-made structure in the world.
KRDK-TV Mast
Another very tall tower, the KRDK-TV mast, is also near Blanchard. It stands about 6 miles (10 km) away, close to a place called Galesburg. This tower is the second-tallest man-made structure in the United States.
