The Blanche River (which means White River in French) is a small river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into the rivière au Pin, which then joins the Bécancour River. Finally, the Bécancour River empties into the mighty St. Lawrence River. This river runs through two towns: Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur-de-Wolfestown and Saint-Julien. Both are located in a region called Chaudière-Appalaches.

Where the Blanche River Starts
The Blanche River begins its journey high in the mountains. It starts on the north side of Breeches Lake. This area is in the town of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur-de-Wolfestown. The starting point is about 2.6 kilometres (1.6 mi) (1.6 miles) southeast of a place called "Chalet Hill." This hill is 445 metres (1,460 ft) (1,460 feet) high. The river's source is also about 3.4 kilometres (2.1 mi) (2.1 miles) southeast of the village of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur-de-Wolfestown. It's only 0.9 kilometres (0.56 mi) (0.56 miles) northeast of Breeches Lake.
The River's Path
From where it begins, the Blanche River flows for about 12.2 kilometres (7.6 mi) (7.6 miles). Here's how its journey unfolds:
- First, it flows north for 3.0 kilometres (1.9 mi) (1.9 miles). It passes by Route 263.
- Then, it continues north for another 2.7 kilometres (1.7 mi) (1.7 miles). It goes under the 4th rang road bridge.
- Next, it flows north for 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) (0.93 miles). This part marks the border between the towns of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur-de-Wolfestown and Saint-Julien.
- After that, it travels north for 2.0 kilometres (1.2 mi) (1.2 miles). It passes under another road bridge.
- It then turns east for 1.1 kilometres (0.68 mi) (0.68 miles) until it reaches a road.
- Finally, it flows northeast for 1.9 kilometres (1.2 mi) (1.2 miles) until it meets another river.
Where the Blanche River Ends
The Blanche River finishes its journey by joining the rivière au Pin. This meeting point is on the west side of the rivière au Pin. It's located east of the village of Saint-Julien. It's also west of Mont Caribou. This spot is about 1.1 kilometres (0.68 mi) (0.68 miles) downstream from the border between the towns of Irlande and Saint-Julien.
