The Story of Blizzard
The movie begins with a ten-year-old girl named Jess. She is very sad because her best friend, Bobby, has moved away. To cheer her up, her Aunt Millie tells her a special story.
Katie's Skating Dream
Aunt Millie's story is about another ten-year-old girl named Katie. Katie loves to ice-skate. She practices a lot on a rink near her home. One day, she meets Otto Brewer. Otto is a former Olympic skating champion. He offers to teach Katie how to skate even better. With Otto's help, Katie becomes an amazing skater.
But then, something sad happens. Katie's dad loses his job. Her family has to move to a big city. This makes Katie very upset.
Blizzard the Magical Reindeer
Meanwhile, at the North Pole, Santa and his elves are celebrating. A new baby reindeer is born! Her name is Blizzard. She is the daughter of Blitzen and Delphi. Blizzard is a very special reindeer. She has three magical gifts:
- She can fly.
- She can make herself invisible.
- She can "see with her heart." This means she can feel what others are feeling.
Blizzard Helps Katie
Using her special gift, Blizzard feels Katie's sadness. She decides to fly to Katie's home to see what is wrong. Even though there are strict rules at the North Pole, Blizzard wants to help. She teaches Katie that true friendships never really end. They stay with you, even when friends move far away.
However, breaking the rules means Blizzard might get into trouble. Archimedes, Santa's strict head elf, might banish her. Only true friendship can save Blizzard now. Katie's former bully, Erin, becomes a good friend. Katie and Blizzard help save Erin from drowning in a frozen pond. This shows the power of friendship.
