Cree Summer Francks (born July 7, 1969) is a talented actress and singer from both America and Canada. She is super famous for her voice acting in many cartoons and animated shows. You might know her voice as Elmyra Duff from Tiny Toon Adventures or Susie Carmichael from Rugrats. She also voiced Lizard in Spirit Rangers, which even won her an NAACP Image Awards!
Cree Summer has lent her voice to characters in many other popular shows. These include Inspector Gadget, Batman Beyond, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Codename: Kids Next Door. She was also the voice of Princess Kida in Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Besides voice acting, she also acted in live-action TV. She played Winifred "Freddie" Brooks in the TV show A Different World from 1987 to 1993.

Early Life and Family
Cree Summer was born in Los Angeles on July 7, 1969. She grew up mostly in Canada, living in places like Saskatchewan and Toronto. Her parents, Don Francks and Lili Francks, were also actors. As a child, she and her family moved around British Columbia. She started school in Toronto when she was nine years old. Cree also has a younger brother, Rainbow Sun Francks, who is an actor and used to be a VJ for MuchMusic.
Amazing Acting Career
Cree Summer's acting journey began in 1983. Her first big role was voicing Penny in the very first season of Inspector Gadget. After that, she appeared in many animated movies and shows. She was in The Care Bears Movie in 1985 and also in Ewoks, which is part of the Star Wars world.
In 1988, Cree got a role in a live-action TV show called A Different World. She played Freddie Brooks, a free-spirited student. She was a main character on the show until it ended in 1993. Even while working on A Different World, Cree kept busy with voice acting.

Cree Summer has also voiced characters in many video games. She was Auriel in Diablo III and Tandi in Fallout. She also voiced Cynder in The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning and Medusa in Kid Icarus: Uprising. You can hear her voice as Professor Penelope Young in Batman: Arkham Asylum and Roller Brawl in the Skylanders series.
Music Career
Besides acting, Cree Summer is also a singer! She recorded the theme song for OWL/TV in 1985. In 1999, she released her own solo album called Street Faërie. This album was produced by the famous musician Lenny Kravitz.
Many of the characters Cree Summer voices are also singers. Susie in All Grown Up! was shown as a talented singer, which allowed Cree to sing in the role. Cree also sings the opening theme song for All Grown Up!. Foxxy Love from Drawn Together was a singer, and Numbuh 5 from Codename: Kids Next Door sang a lullaby. Even Elmyra Duff from Tiny Toon Adventures sang many times!
In 2008, she performed a cover of the song "Dirty Love" with Dweezil Zappa. Cree Summer has shared that she is inspired by musicians like Frank Zappa, Al Green, and Dinah Washington.
Personal Life
Cree Summer is a citizen of both America and Canada. She was married to producer Angelo Pullen for almost ten years. They have two daughters, who were born in 2011 and 2013. Her younger brother, Rainbow Sun Francks, is also an actor and songwriter.
