Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation is a funny animated movie from 1992. It was made by Warner Bros. Animation and Amblin Entertainment. This film was special because it was the first animated movie released directly to video in the United States. It was originally planned to be shown in movie theaters.

The film stars the popular characters from the TV show Tiny Toon Adventures. It shows what they do during their summer break from school. The main stories follow Babs and Buster Bunny on a river adventure, Plucky Duck and Hamton J. Pig visiting a huge amusement park, and Fifi La Fume looking for her favorite movie star.

Steven Spielberg was a main producer for the film. The story was written by Paul Dini, Nicholas Hollander, Tom Ruegger, and Sherri Stoner. A Japanese animation studio called Tokyo Movie Shinsha (now TMS Entertainment) created the animation. The movie came out on VHS and LaserDisc on March 11, 1992. Later, it was even shown on TV as four separate episodes of Tiny Toon Adventures.

How I Spent My Vacation was a very popular video in the United States. It stayed on Billboard magazine's list of 40 "Top Video Sales" for 16 weeks in 1992. People liked the movie's jokes and funny celebrity characters. Some thought the story felt a bit broken into different parts. The film often made fun of pop culture and summer vacations.

What Happens in the Movie

The Tiny Toon Adventures characters finish their school year at Acme Looniversity and start their summer vacations.

Babs and Buster's Watery Adventure

Babs and Buster Bunny begin with a water pistol fight. This gets out of hand and floods Acme Acres! The bunnies, along with Byron Basset, float away from the flooded town. They drift down to the Southern United States. There, they constantly try to avoid being eaten by hungry river animals.

Plucky and Hamton's Road Trip

Plucky Duck goes with Hamton J. Pig and Hamton's family on a road trip. They are driving to an amusement park called HappyWorldLand. The trip is very long and annoying for Plucky. He gets bothered by the Pig family's habits. Plucky is also almost harmed by an escaped criminal. The Pig family mistakes this criminal for a friendly hitchhiker. They finally get to HappyWorldLand. But they only ride the tour monorail around the park. Then, they immediately decide to go back home, which makes Plucky very upset.

Elmyra, Fifi, and the Movie Star

Meanwhile, Elmyra Duff is sad because she lost her cat, Furrball. When her family visits a nature park, she bothers the zoo animals with her overly loving hugs. Fifi Le Fume spends time with a movie actor named Johnny Pew. Johnny is not very interested in Fifi. Fowlmouth and Shirley the Loon go to see a movie called Skunknophobia. Fifi and Johnny also go to the same movie. Fowlmouth talks loudly through the whole film and gets kicked out of the theater. Fifi gets annoyed when Johnny takes her photo of him and signs it for another girl. Fifi then throws Johnny out of the theater. He ends up with Elmyra, who is wearing a cheetah's fur from the zoo. Elmyra mistakenly thinks Johnny is her new "kitty."

The Grand Finale

Babs and Buster realize they are about to be the main meal at a dinner show on a showboat. They escape with help from Byron. The hungry animals they met earlier chase them. But a possum named Banjo Possum, whom Buster had befriended, saves them. The escaped criminal returns and tries to harm them too. Buster, Babs, Byron, and Banjo try to escape using a mine cart. The criminal falls off a cliff. The four characters then fall down a "plot hole". This leads them through Wackyland and back to Acme Acres. The movie ends with everyone returning to Looniversity for the fall school semester.
