Story of the Tinysauruses
The Special Treesweets
Every year, when the weather gets warm, a special tree in the Great Valley blooms. This tree grows delicious pink flowers called "treesweets." All the dinosaurs love them!
But there's only one treesweet tree in the whole valley. So, everyone has to wait for "Nibbling Day." This is the day when the treesweets are perfectly ripe and ready to eat.
Littlefoot and his friends, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike, can't wait to try them. Ducky almost takes one, but Littlefoot stops her. He reminds them all about Nibbling Day.
Petrie tries to fly up and grab a treesweet anyway. Just then, Cera's father, Topsy, shows up. He reminds everyone how long they have waited for the treesweets. Cera also arrives and claims she should get the first one. She says she found the tree, but Littlefoot actually did. Cera also teases Littlefoot for being too small to reach the treesweets.
Topsy's Old Friend
Meanwhile, Topsy gets a visit from an old friend. Her name is Tria, and she is a female threehorn. It seems Topsy used to like her a lot.
Topsy promises Tria that she will get the very first treesweet of the season. Cera hears this and gets very upset. From that moment on, Cera refuses to be friends with Tria. She gets angry if her friends even mention Tria or Topsy's nickname.
Littlefoot's Mistake
Littlefoot feels sad because he thinks he is too small. He goes back to the treesweet tree by himself. He climbs a cliff next to it, trying to reach the treesweets.
Suddenly, he falls right through the tree! All the treesweets fall to the ground. Littlefoot faints, realizing the big trouble he is in. When he wakes up, he is surrounded by many tiny longnecks. These small dinosaurs are called Mussaurus. They have eaten all the treesweets! Littlefoot screams in surprise, and they quickly run away.
Blaming the Tinysauruses
The other dinosaurs notice that all the treesweets are gone. They start to think Littlefoot is responsible. Littlefoot is scared to tell the truth. So, he blames the tiny longnecks.
At first, no one believes him. But then they see tiny teeth marks on a treesweet petal. Now, everyone believes Littlefoot. They start looking for the tiny longnecks. They plan to make them leave the valley. Topsy notices the small bite marks. He says they were made by something very tiny, maybe even smaller than Littlefoot.
Discovering the Hideout
As Littlefoot and Cera search the valley, Littlefoot falls into a pothole. It turns out this is where the tiny longnecks are hiding! Littlefoot is scared at first and runs deeper into the cave.
But soon, he realizes the tiny longnecks are not bad at all. He becomes friends with them. He learns that it's hard for them to find food. So, he promises to bring them treestars every night.
Keeping a Secret
Eventually, Littlefoot's friends see him bringing food to the tiny longnecks. They also fall into the pothole. They all meet the tiny longnecks for themselves. They promise not to tell the grown-ups.
Even Cera, who is still angry with her father, promises to keep the secret. She finds she can understand the tiny longnecks better than she thought. Many of the tiny longnecks feel their leader, Big Daddy, bosses them around too much. But he just wants what is best for them. He doesn't trust bigger dinosaurs. He thinks they believe they are more important just because they are bigger.
The Truth Comes Out
One night, Littlefoot and his friends try to sneak off to see the tiny longnecks again. Topsy catches them. He asks where they are going so late. Cera angrily asks him the same question back.
Topsy tells the children they need to worry about the tiny longnecks. He tells them to go home and warns them not to be out late again. He tells Littlefoot and his friends that their parents will hear about it if he catches them again. Topsy wants Cera to not find out about him and Tria.
Just as Tria comes up to him, they spot one of the tiny longnecks. A chase begins, and it leads them to the tiny longnecks' hideout. The grown-ups get ready to block the caves. Littlefoot knows he must tell the truth. He admits that it was his fault the treesweets were gone, not the tiny longnecks'.
Danger and Rescue
Just as Littlefoot finishes, the tiny longnecks' cave collapses, trapping them inside. But the tiny longnecks escape! As they look for a new hideout, two Deinonychus (sharpteeth) find them. The sharpteeth chase them into the Great Valley.
Meanwhile, Littlefoot's friends are mad at him. They later try to say sorry. But they mistake the sharpteeth for Littlefoot. The two meat-eaters jump at them, starting a chase. Littlefoot shows up just in time. He saves Ducky just as she is about to be eaten.
When all hope seems lost, the tiny longnecks appear. They fight the sharpteeth! Then, the grown-ups of the Valley arrive. They chase the sharpteeth back into the Mysterious Beyond through a hole. They cover the hole with a big rock. Finally, Nibbling Day arrives!

Some of Michael Tavera's music from earlier Land Before Time sequels is also used in this film.
One of the songs in the background, when Topsy catches Petrie trying to get a blossom, is from another movie called An American Tail: The Treasure of Manhattan Island.
