Ewoks, also known as Star Wars: Ewoks, is an animated TV show. It features the cute, furry Ewok characters from the Star Wars movies. The Ewoks first appeared in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983). They also starred in two movies made for TV: Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure (1984) and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985).
This cartoon series was made by a Canadian company called Nelvana for Lucasfilm. It first aired on ABC in 1985. It was shown alongside another Star Wars cartoon, Droids. Later, it aired by itself as The All-New Ewoks.

Discover the Ewoks' World
This show tells us about the adventures of Wicket W. Warrick and his friends. They live on the forest moon of Endor. These stories happen before the main Star Wars movies. In the show, the Ewoks speak English, not their native language. But you might still hear some Ewok words and songs!
The main bad guys are Morag, a mean witch. She has a big problem with the Ewok shaman, Master Logray. There are also the Duloks, who are a rival species. They are related to the Ewoks but are not friendly.
One important episode is "Battle for the Sunstar". In this episode, the Ewok heroes leave their moon. They go onto an Imperial Star Destroyer. This ship has come to their system. An Imperial scientist tries to hurt the Emperor. This episode connects the show to Return of the Jedi. In that movie, the Empire uses Endor as a base for the second Death Star.

The first season of the show was more detailed. The second season had a simpler style for both writing and animation.

The Ewoks' Place in Star Wars
Details from the Ewoks series appear in Star Wars reference books. These include A Guide to the Star Wars Universe and the Star Wars Encyclopedia. A Dulok character was even shown on Coruscant in the Clone Wars cartoon (2003).
In 2014, the Ewoks show was not considered part of the main Star Wars story anymore. This is called "Legends" status. However, some parts of the show are still mentioned in newer Star Wars books. It also appears in the web series Star Wars Forces of Destiny (2018).
The show's opening titles were briefly seen in an episode of Stranger Things (2022).
Merchandise and Comics
Action Figures
In 1985, Kenner Products made action figures based on the show. They planned a second set of figures, but they were never released. This was because the first figures did not sell very well.
Comics
In 1985, Star Comics, a part of Marvel, started publishing an Ewoks comic book. It came out every two months and lasted for two years. There were 14 issues in total. Like the TV show, the comic was made for younger readers. It was published at the same time as a comic based on the Droids show. One issue of Ewoks continued a story from the Droids comic.
