Rainbow Sun Francks is a Canadian actor. He was born on December 3, 1979. He is famous for playing Lt. Aiden Ford in the TV show Stargate Atlantis. He also had important roles in other TV shows like The Listener, The Umbrella Academy, and High Fidelity.
Early Life and Family
Rainbow Sun Francks was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His father is Don Francks, a Canadian actor and musician. His mother is Lili Red Eagle, a dancer from North Richmond, California. She is of Plains Cree and African-American heritage.
Rainbow is an honorary member of the Red Pheasant Cree Nation. This is a First Nation group in Canada. He is also the younger brother of the well-known actress and singer, Cree Summer.
Acting Career
Before becoming widely known as an actor, Rainbow Sun Francks worked at MuchMusic. This was a popular Canadian TV channel that played music videos. He was an on-air personality there.
His big role came when he played US Marine Lieutenant Aiden Ford in Stargate Atlantis. He was a main character in the first season of the show. Later, his role became smaller in season two. He appeared only briefly in season five.
Rainbow also played Dev Clark in the TV show The Listener. Besides acting, he is involved in music. He produces a hip hop group called The Oddities.
