The Umbrella Academy is a popular superhero TV show you can watch online. It's based on a comic book series created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. The story is about an unusual family of adopted superhero siblings. They come back together to solve the mystery of their father's death. They also have to stop the world from ending!
About the Show
The show features a great group of actors. These include Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, and Aidan Gallagher. The idea for The Umbrella Academy first started as a movie in 2011. Later, in 2015, it was decided to make it a TV series instead. Netflix officially gave it the green light in July 2017. The show is filmed in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Seasons and Success
The first season of The Umbrella Academy came out on Netflix on February 15, 2019. It was a big hit! In April 2019, Netflix shared that 45 million homes watched the first season in its first month. Because it was so popular, the show was renewed for a second season. The second season was released on July 31, 2020. Both seasons got very good reviews from people who watched them and from critics. In November 2020, Netflix announced there would be a third season.
