Emmy Raver-Lampman (born Emily Christine Raver Lampman on September 5, 1988) is an American actress and singer. She started her career performing in musical theater shows. She has been in many popular Broadway and touring productions. These include Hair, Jekyll & Hyde, Wicked, and Hamilton. She is also famous for her role as Allison Hargreeves in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy.

Early Life and Education
Emmy Raver-Lampman grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. She was adopted when she was a baby. Her mother, Sharon, is a professor, and her father, Greg, is a writer and teacher. She was an only child and traveled to over 50 countries when she was young. She even lived in places like the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and India because of her mother's job.
She went to a special performing arts high school called Governor's School for the Arts. She also attended Maury High in Norfolk. After high school, she studied at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. She began acting professionally while still in college. She took a break from her studies to act in a production of Hair. She later returned to college and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater in 2012.
Her Acting Career
Emmy Raver-Lampman's career began in musical theater. Her first professional acting job was in a show called Children of Eden in May 2010. She got a main role in this musical while she was still in college.
Starting on Broadway
After Children of Eden, she joined the national tour of Hair in 2010. This helped her get her Equity card, which is important for professional actors. In summer 2011, Hair came to Broadway, and Emmy made her Broadway debut.
She later joined the national tour of Jekyll & Hyde in 2012. She was part of the group and also learned the main role of Lucy Harris. This show also moved to Broadway in 2013. In late 2013, Emmy was in the original Broadway show A Night with Janis Joplin. She then joined the first U.S. tour of Wicked as a backup for the main role of Elphaba.
Becoming a Hamilton Star
After her time with Wicked, Emmy returned to New York in 2015. She auditioned for Hamilton, which was a very popular new musical. She became part of the original cast of Hamilton on Broadway. She was also a backup for the three main female roles: Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy/Maria Reynolds. Hamilton opened in August 2015 and became a huge hit.
In 2016, she was cast as Pearl Krabs in the Chicago tryout of the musical SpongeBob SquarePants. She left the Broadway production of Hamilton in April 2016. Later that year, she returned to Hamilton as an original cast member for the Chicago show. In March 2017, she joined the show's first national tour, playing the role of Angelica. She toured with the show until the end of 2017.
In 2019, it was announced that she would star in a new musical called Gun & Powder. This show opened in January 2020 in Virginia.
Film and Television Roles
Emmy Raver-Lampman got her first big television role in 2017. She played Allison Hargreeves in The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. The show was filmed in 2018 and released in February 2019. It quickly became one of Netflix's most popular series. She filmed the second season in 2019, and it came out in July 2020.
In 2019, she also had guest roles in TV shows like A Million Little Things and Jane the Virgin. In July 2020, she started voicing Molly Tillerman in the Apple TV+ series Central Park. She took over the role for the second season of the show.
Emmy has also appeared in several movies. She played Mira Jones in Blacklight and FBI Agent Verona Parker in The Beekeeper.
Personal Life
Emmy Raver-Lampman is in a relationship with actor Daveed Diggs. They met in 2015 while they were both performing in Hamilton. They welcomed their son in March 2024.
