Candi Lindsey (born June 9, 1972) is an American singer. She is much better known by her stage name, Blue Raspberry. She comes from Pleasantville, New Jersey. Many people know her because she worked closely with the famous hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan. Her unique stage name was given to her by Killah Priest, another artist linked to Wu-Tang. He said she reminded him of a blue raspberry fruit!
About Blue Raspberry
Blue Raspberry was discovered by the Wu-Tang Clan in a very interesting way. She was working at Bally's Atlantic City, a big hotel and casino, as a parking cashier. She was singing over the loudspeakers, and someone from the group heard her amazing voice!
She soon became the main female singer for the Wu-Tang Clan. This happened during the time when members of the group started releasing their own solo music. She sang on songs for Method Man's album Tical. She also appeared on Raekwon's album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.
Even though another singer, Tekitha, joined the group later, Blue Raspberry kept working with them. She appeared on albums like Blackout! by Method Man & Redman. She also sang on the soundtrack for the movie Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai.
Blue Raspberry finally released her own solo album in 2005. It was called Out of the Blue. She also appeared on Raekwon's album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II.
