Method Man & Redman are a famous hip hop duo from the United States. The group is made up of two talented East Coast rappers: Method Man from Wu-Tang Clan and Redman from Def Squad. Both artists are signed to Def Jam Recordings for their solo music and their work together.

They started working together in 1994. However, their first full album as a duo, Blackout!, came out in 1999. They released a second album, Blackout! 2, in 2009. Method Man often gives a shout-out to Redman in his songs, calling him "Doc," which is one of Redman's nicknames. In 2004, the duo also starred in a TV show called Method & Red. However, they later said they weren't happy with the show because they didn't have enough say in how it was made.

Their Journey in Hip Hop

Method Man and Redman knew each other for a long time before they both signed with Def Jam. They met again in 1994 while on tour. In 1995, they were in the recording studio with the famous West Coast rapper Tupac "2Pac" Shakur. They recorded a song called "Got My Mind Made Up" for Tupac's album All Eyez on Me (1996).

After this, they had friendly freestyle battles on the TV show Yo! MTV Raps. These battles led to their first song together, "How High". In 1999, they also appeared on "Rap Phenomenon" from The Notorious B.I.G.'s album Born Again.

In 2009, to promote their second album, Method Man & Redman released a mixtape called Lights Out. It was hosted by DJ Green Lantern. In 2013, they showed off a new song called "Lookin’ Fly Too."
