Glenn "Bo" Overton was born on July 9, 1960. He is an American basketball coach. Currently, he is the head coach for the women's basketball team at Oklahoma Baptist University. Before joining OBU, he coached in the Women's Chinese Basketball Association.

Bo Overton's Early Life and School Years
Bo Overton was born in Ada, Oklahoma. When he was a senior at Ada High School in 1979, he was named the Oklahoma High School Basketball Player of the Year. This was a big honor for him.
Playing College Basketball
Overton played college basketball at the University of Oklahoma. He was a starting point guard for the team from 1980 to 1983. By the time he finished his college career, he had set school records. These records were for his free throw percentage, the number of assists he made, and how many games he played.
Bo Overton's Professional Playing Career
After college, Bo Overton was chosen by the Phoenix Suns in the 1983 NBA draft. He played professional basketball for the Toronto Tornadoes. This team was part of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He played with them during the 1984–85 season.
After his playing time, he became an assistant coach. He coached for the same team, which had moved to Pensacola, Florida. This was during the 1985–86 season.

Bo Overton has had a long and successful career as a basketball coach. He has coached many different teams. He started coaching right after his playing career.
Coaching College Men's Teams
Overton was the head coach and athletic director at Murray State College. This college is in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. He held these roles from 1989 to 1991. He also worked as an assistant coach for several men's college basketball teams. These teams included Oral Roberts (from 1987 to 1988 and again from 1991 to 1993). He also coached at Texas State (1993 to 1994) and Louisiana Tech (1994 to 1998).
Coaching College Women's Teams
Later, Overton returned to his old college, the University of Oklahoma. He became an assistant coach for the Oklahoma Sooners women's basketball team. He worked under coach Sherri Coale. The Sooners team made it to the Final Four in 2002. After his time at Oklahoma, he became the head coach at UMKC.
Coaching in the WNBA
On December 12, 2006, Bo Overton left UMKC. He became the head coach for the Chicago Sky team in the WNBA. The WNBA is the Women's National Basketball Association. He coached the Sky for one season, which ended with a record of 14 wins and 20 losses. He resigned from the team on March 12, 2008.
International and Other Coaching Roles
From 2008 to 2009, Overton worked as a consultant for the WNBA's Tulsa Shock. He then became an assistant coach for the Bahamas women's national basketball team from 2009 to 2010.
Overton also coached in China. He led the Liaoning Hengye team in the Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, he coached the China women's national basketball team during the 2012 Summer Olympics. He then coached the Guangdong Dragons in the WCBA during the 2012–13 season. After that, he coached Dynamo Kursk in the Russian Women's Basketball Premier League in 2013–14.
Returning to College Coaching
In 2015, Bo Overton became the head women's basketball coach at Oklahoma City University. He led the Oklahoma City team to a big victory. They won the NAIA national championship in the 2016–17 season. Because of this success, he was named coach of the year.
On March 16, 2020, Overton was named the head coach at Oklahoma Baptist University. He continues to coach there today.
