Bob Brier (born December 13, 1943) is an American Egyptologist. This means he is a scientist who studies ancient Egypt. He is also a paleopathologist, which means he studies diseases from ancient times, especially in mummies. Bob Brier is known for his work on mummies and how they were made. Early Life and Education
Bob Brier grew up in The Bronx, New York. He went to Hunter College for his first degree. Later, he earned his PhD in philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1970.
In 1972, he started teaching at Long Island University. He was the head of the philosophy department for many years. He also directed a special program called "Egyptology Today." Since 2004, he has been a senior research fellow at LIU Post. Besides Long Island University, Bob Brier has taught about ancient Egyptian language and Egyptology at other schools.

Bob Brier has traveled to many countries, working in pyramids and ancient tombs. He has studied mummification practices all over the world. He has even investigated famous mummies like Tutankhamen, Ramses the Great, and Eva Perón (also known as Evita). He also studied the mummies of the Medici family.
