Robert Frank Nevin (born March 18, 1938 – died September 21, 2020) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He was a right wing who played for 18 seasons. All his games were in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played from the 1957–58 season to the 1975–76 season.

His Amazing Hockey Journey
Bob Nevin started his NHL career with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In his first full season, 1960–61, he scored 21 goals. He was almost chosen for the Calder Memorial Trophy. This award goes to the best rookie player.
He played on a special line with Red Kelly and Frank Mahovlich. Together, they helped the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup in 1962 and 1963. Winning the Stanley Cup is a huge achievement in hockey!
In 1964, Nevin was traded to the New York Rangers. He played for the Rangers for seven years. Later, he moved to the Minnesota North Stars. He also played for the Los Angeles Kings. With the Kings, he had his best season ever. He scored 72 points and helped the team get 105 points. This was a record for the Kings at the time.
After his time in the NHL, Nevin played for the Edmonton Oilers. This team was part of the World Hockey Association (WHA). He played only 13 games there. He had to retire after breaking his collarbone.
Nevin played a total of 1128 games in the NHL. He scored 307 goals and made 419 assists. That's a total of 726 points in his career!
A Unique Challenge on the Ice
Bob Nevin was one of the first NHL players to wear contact lenses. He started wearing them in the early 1960s. During a game in 1962, he lost a lens. The game had to stop so everyone could help find it!
His Impact and Legacy
In a book called 100 Ranger Greats, Bob Nevin was ranked very high. He was listed as the 51st best player ever for the New York Rangers. This shows how important he was to the team.
