Bobby Jackson (born March 13, 1973) is an American basketball coach. He is currently an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers. This team plays in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before becoming a coach, Bobby Jackson was a professional basketball player. He played for twelve seasons in the NBA, from 1997 to 2009.

Bobby Jackson's Basketball Journey
Playing College Basketball
Bobby Jackson finished high school at Salisbury High School in 1992. After high school, he went to Western Nebraska Community College. Later, he played college basketball for the University of Minnesota.
While playing for Minnesota, Bobby Jackson helped his team reach the Final Four. This is a very important stage in the college basketball championship. His team played well but lost to the Kentucky Wildcats.
Playing Professional Basketball
In 1997, Bobby Jackson was chosen by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1997 NBA draft. This is when NBA teams pick new players. Before playing his first game, he was traded to the Denver Nuggets. He played 68 games there.
After that, he moved to the Minnesota Timberwolves and played for them for two seasons. Many fans remember Bobby Jackson best for his time with the Sacramento Kings. He played for the Kings from 2000 to 2005. Fans called him "Action Jackson" because of his exciting play. He was a favorite among the crowd.
In the 2002 NBA Playoffs, Bobby Jackson and the Kings had a great season. They almost made it to the NBA Finals. However, they were eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers in a very close and talked-about series. During the 2002-03 NBA season, Jackson had his best year for scoring. He averaged 15.2 points per game. Because of his great performance, he won the Sixth Man of the Year award. This award goes to the best player who usually comes off the bench.
Later, in the 2004–05 NBA season, Jackson got hurt and missed many games. The next season, he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. In 2008, he was traded back to the Sacramento Kings. Bobby Jackson officially stopped playing in the NBA on October 24, 2009.
Bobby Jackson's Coaching Career
After his playing career, Bobby Jackson became an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings. He worked there from 2011 to 2012.
In 2013, he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves as a player development coach. This role helps players improve their skills.
In 2021, Bobby Jackson became the head coach of the Stockton Kings. This team plays in the NBA G League, which is like a development league for the NBA.
On September 5, 2023, Bobby Jackson became an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers.
