Bobby Jackson (born March 13, 1973) is an American basketball coach. He is currently an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before becoming a coach, he played basketball for twelve seasons in the NBA, from 1997 to 2009.

Bobby Jackson's Basketball Journey
College Basketball Days
Bobby Jackson finished high school at Salisbury High School in 1992. He then went to Western Nebraska Community College. Later, he played college basketball for the University of Minnesota. As a Golden Gopher, Bobby helped his team reach the Final Four in the national college tournament. They played very well but lost to the Kentucky Wildcats.
Playing in the NBA
Bobby Jackson was chosen by the Seattle SuperSonics as the 23rd player in the 1997 NBA draft. Before his first season, he was traded to the Denver Nuggets. He played 68 games there. After that, he moved to the Minnesota Timberwolves and played for them for two seasons.
Bobby is most famous for his time with the Sacramento Kings. He played for the Kings from 2000 to 2005. Fans loved him and called him "Action Jackson." In the 2002 NBA Playoffs, his team had a great season, winning 61 games. They almost made it to the NBA Finals but were stopped by the Los Angeles Lakers.
During the 2002-03 NBA season, Bobby had his best year, scoring 15.2 points per game. Because of his amazing play off the bench, he won the Sixth Man of the Year award. This award goes to the best player who usually comes into the game as a substitute.
Later, in 2008, Bobby was traded back to the Sacramento Kings by the Houston Rockets. He officially retired from playing in the NBA on October 24, 2009.

Coaching the Sacramento Kings
Bobby started as an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings in 2011. He worked with the team for a couple of seasons.
Player Development Coach
In 2013, Bobby joined the Minnesota Timberwolves as a player development coach. In this role, he helped younger players improve their skills.
Head Coach of Stockton Kings
In 2021, Bobby Jackson became the head coach of the Stockton Kings. This team plays in the NBA G League, which is like a development league for the NBA.
Assistant Coach for Philadelphia 76ers
In September 2023, Bobby became an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers. He helped coach the team during the 2023-2024 NBA season.
Back with the Sacramento Kings
In May 2025, Bobby Jackson returned to the Sacramento Kings as an assistant coach. He continues to help guide the team.
