Bonnie Bedelia (born Bonnie Bedelia Culkin; March 25, 1948) is an American actress. She started her acting journey in theater in the 1960s. Later, she became well-known for her roles in TV shows and movies.
Bonnie Bedelia starred in the CBS soap opera Love of Life. She also made her first movie appearance in The Gypsy Moths. She has been in many popular films like Die Hard and Presumed Innocent.
For her work on television, Bonnie Bedelia has been nominated for two Emmy Awards. From 2001 to 2004, she played a main character in the TV show The Division. She also played Camille Braverman, the family mother, in the NBC show Parenthood from 2010 to 2015.

Bonnie Bedelia was born in New York City. Her mother, Marian Ethel, was a writer and editor. Her father, Philip Harley Culkin, worked in public relations. Bonnie grew up during a tough financial time for her family.
She has two brothers, including actor Kit Culkin, and a sister named Candice. She is also the aunt of famous actors Macaulay, Kieran, and Rory Culkin.
When she was young, Bonnie Bedelia studied dance at the School of American Ballet. She also trained to be an actress at HB Studio.
Bonnie Bedelia's Acting Career
Before becoming an actress, Bonnie Bedelia was a ballet dancer. She performed in some shows with the New York City Ballet, including The Nutcracker. Her only dancing role on screen was as Clara in a TV version of George Balanchine's Nutcracker in 1958.
From 1961 to 1967, Bedelia was a regular on the CBS soap opera Love of Life. She played the character Sandy Porter. She also performed on Broadway. She first appeared there in 1962, supporting Patty Duke in a play called Isle of Children. In 1966, she won a Theatre World Award for her main role in My Sweet Charlie.
First Film Roles
Bonnie Bedelia made her first movie appearance in The Gypsy Moths in 1969. Later that year, she gained attention for her role in They Shoot Horses, Don't They?. She starred in the comedy Lovers and Other Strangers in 1970. She also had serious roles in movies like The Strange Vengeance of Rosalie (1972) and Between Friends (1973). In 1978, she appeared with Richard Dreyfuss in the comedy The Big Fix. On television, she played the main role in the ABC drama series The New Land in 1974.
Later Successes
In 1984, Bedelia was praised for her role in Heart Like a Wheel (1983). She played drag racer Shirley Muldowney and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.
She is also well-known for playing Holly Gennero McClane. This character was the wife of Bruce Willis's character, John McClane, in Die Hard (1988) and Die Hard 2 (1990). She also played Barbara Sabich, the wife of Harrison Ford's character, in Presumed Innocent (1990).
Bonnie Bedelia appeared in two movies based on Stephen King's books: Salem's Lot (1979) and Needful Things (1993). She was nominated for Emmy Awards for her work in the TV series Fallen Angels (1993). She was also nominated for her main role in the TV movie Locked in Silence (1999).

Bonnie Bedelia married scriptwriter Ken Luber in 1969. They had two sons, Uri (born in 1970) and Jonah (born in 1976). They later divorced in 1980. In 1995, she married actor Michael MacRae.
