History of Boon
Boon first started to be settled around 1888. It began as a station along a railroad line called the Toledo, Ann Arbor, and Northern Michigan Railroad. This railroad helped connect different places and transport goods.
In 1889, the community of Boon was officially planned out. This means its streets and lots were mapped. It received its very first post office on December 19, 1899. For the first time, in the 2010 census, Boon was officially listed as a newly organized census-designated place (CDP). This gave it clear, defined borders and official population numbers.
